Episode #1

 But Wait!

"Your wife Elisabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth." - Luke 1:13-14

The Nativity Story begins with Zacharias and Elisabeth, an old couple in the Judean hills who had faithfully served GOD for years despite bearing an intense disappointment because of childlessness. They had fervently prayed earnestly for a child, but GOD hadn't yet answered, and their prayers on that subject had been marked as unanswered - or - presumably answered with a "No".

As the decades passed, their prayer for a child sadly faded from their prayer lists (requests). Although faded from their prayer requests, this specific prayer always remained in their hearts and was their (true and) deepest hearts desire. It plagued their minds and weighed on their hearts and spirits heavily, and yet, they still courageously, faithfully and obediently carried on and served The LORD GOD. Despite being brokenhearted, they still remained loyal and faithful and steadfast.

BUT, WAIT!

One day an angel appeared to Zacharias and said, "Do not be afraid Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elisabeth will bear you a son" (Luke 1:13).

In this way, John the Baptist came into the world as a forerunner of Jesus Christ.

** Fun Fact to mention - and - Add to Note: that Jesus and John were actually cousins as well. **
(On behalf Of Mary and Elisabeth's Kinship)

Just as GOD (had) answered the prayers of Zacharias and Elizabeth, HE still continues to answer our prayers for us as well today.

While, yes it is true, that sometimes HE does say, "No", and for good reasons too, regardless if we see it or not, and regardless if we accept it or not. The LORD GOD always has a PERFECT reason for every single thing! Perfect Timing. Perfect Plan. Perfect Way. Perfect Reason. Perfect Will. True Perfection!

Now, like I said, HE does sometimes say, "No", and sometimes HE says,"Yes", BUT, often the answer is simply just, "Wait".

Looking at- Luke chapter 1 and verses 12-17, (Luke 1:12-17), and the context of this blog, After getting past the initial shock and fear, Zacharias hears that his wife, Elisabeth, will soon have a child - a very special child, whose purpose will be to prepare the people for the coming of The LORD.
He will be filled with The Holy Spirit inside his mother's womb (1:41, 1:44).

While it's understandable from a human perspective that Zacharias has difficulty believing this extraordinary thing and amazing blessing that is happening to him and that The LORD GOD is bestowing to him and his wife, there are a number of examples of supernatural conceptions and births in the Old Testament with which he is certainly (more than) familiar (with).

There is Zacharias and Elisabeth who bore John the Baptist, Abraham and Sarah had a son Issac in their old age as well, and then there is even Hannah and the parents of Samson, not to mention (Joseph and) Mary with whom bore our LORD and SAVIOR Jesus Christ (Yeshua Hamashiach).

So my friends, if you're discouraged and weary yourselves, about an issue today, keep praying! Just KEEP Praying!

The LORD GOD absolutely has NOT forgotten about you, NOR your need.

Trust in HIM and Trust HIS Timing and Persevere in Prayer and Faith.

Love Always and GOD Bless Ya'll 💕🙏,
