SPIRITUAL NOURISHMENT FOR TODAY  #142: 1 CORINTHIANS 1:27-29 KJV.



            O, THE UNSURPASSABLE WISDOM OF GOD:

                                        Embracing Grace



Human wisdom has produced a world of unspeakable suffering, pain, oppression, disease, injustice, violence, war and depravity.


Yet, the masses of people are still admiring the wealthy, influential and popular leaders of the world.


Consider the disciples whom Yeshua chose.


Of the Twelve, five were fishermen, one was a tax collector, and we are not certain about the status of the other 6.


But one thing we know for sure, none of them were of high rank socially, politically, intellectually or financially.




       How amazing is our God, that He does NOT choose as humans do.




So Paul's teaching here in 1 Corinthians, chapter 1 should be very encouraging to us today.


1. The Corinthians whom God chose to be in The Church were not people of great worldly accomplishments.

2. On the contrary, except perhaps for a few, they were judged by their culture as foolish, weak, base, despised and of little worth in a culture that prized education, scholarship, status and wealth.

3. Why does God operate like this? Simple, real simple! That no human should ever glory in his achievements. All the glory belongs to Christ!

4. Further, God does not need the intelligence, wealth, status and strength of people to accomplish His Kingdom goals.




Beloved in Christ, these words of Paul should serve to encourage and humble us.


Unfortunately, many in The Church are still impressed by human credentials.


But God chooses and equips the humble of heart, the unknowns of the world, the despised, Etc.. to be His vessels to proclaim His Gospel, and prepare them for high office in His Kingdom, NOT these human kingdoms that are about to collapse.


So, rejoice in your calling despite the ridicule and rejection you may be facing, and REJOICE  in the UNSURPASSABLE WISDOM OF OUR GOD!
